Why the Deutschlandstipendium is worthwhile for you
Young people often achieve amazing things in their education, they put a lot of time into their studies and enjoy mastering special challenges. They also often take on responsibility, for example through voluntary work. This is exactly what the Deutschlandstipendium recognizes. The support provided by the federal government and private donors gives you the freedom to give your full commitment to your studies. When selecting Deutschlandstipendium scholarship holders, the universities take into account not only performance at school and university but also personal commitment.
Bright minds for big tasks
In the face of global competition, we are more dependent than ever on young people being able to develop their talents unhindered. Whether it's climate change, demographic development or a shortage of raw materials, we need bright minds, creativity and motivation to solve many of the pressing challenges of the future. The top-level funding provided by the Deutschlandstipendium is therefore an important addition to the funding provided by BAföG/student finance services and educational loans.
More than just a cash injection
Deutschlandstipendium scholarships are funded in equal parts by the federal government and private sponsors. These include companies, associations and private individuals. As a Germany Scholarship holder, you become part of a growing network and can benefit from a wide range of contacts. Scholarship holders often exchange ideas personally with their sponsors. In this way, the program offers much more than financial support.

Don't be afraid of the application
Even though good grades are a criterion in the application process, the Deutschlandstipendium is not just for students with excellent grades. For us, you count as a person with all your facets. Commitment or voluntary or social activities in particular are included in your assessment. Overcoming socially difficult backgrounds in your personal history also influences the assessment. Your chances of receiving a scholarship are also good in relation to the average number of applications received to the number of scholarships available at the University of Wuppertal. Be bold and take your chance!
Network with a future
In addition to purely material support, you will also benefit from non-material support, particularly with regard to your professional future. Most sponsors and scholarship-providing companies take their responsibility towards their scholarship holders very seriously and also see themselves as mentors. They organize company tours, scholarship holder days or invite them to company festivities. It is also the declared aim of the University of Wuppertal to create a lively network from which scholarship holders and sponsors benefit equally. The two cornerstones of the funding year, at which all scholarship holders and sponsors come together, are the award ceremony in November and the popular Germany Scholarship Summer Party with barbecue evening, at which all participants come together in a relaxed atmosphere. In addition, all scholarship holders are invited to company excursions organized especially for them, where they have the opportunity to take a look around the regional business landscape. As part of the university's internal mentoring program, the scholarship holders also have the opportunity to network and exchange ideas with each other. At least one joint excursion takes place during the scholarship year. Do you like the prospect of starting your professional future with financial support and an active network? Then apply to us!
Mentors
Through the mentoring program, we offer you additional content and program points during the scholarship year. These can be specialist lectures and excursions with company partners from the scholarship program or cultural excursions, which we plan and carry out together with your mentors. Our mentors will be happy to answer any study-related questions or provide support that is more related to your studies and your future career.
