Deutschlandstipendium

Around 250 Deutschlandstipendium scholarships are awarded directly at the University of Wuppertal every year and are specifically for school leavers and prospective students who are applying to study in Wuppertal and students who are already enrolled and are in the standard period of study. Good performance is the basis but not the sole criterion for awarding the scholarship. The Deutschlandstipendium also focuses on social and voluntary commitment, as well as overcoming obstacles in one's own CV. We therefore not only support good grades, but also talented and committed people. An A before the decimal point is not necessarily required, as commitment and social background are included in the assessment.

Support in the network too

In addition to financial support, we also offer non-material support through our constantly growing network of sponsors. In addition to opportunities for personal mentoring, we regularly offer workshops, excursions and networking events where you can benefit from both knowledge transfer and contacts in the business world.

Believe in the possibilities!

The most common statement in surveys about applying for the Deutschlandstipendium is: "I don't think I'm good enough for a scholarship". Yet the prospects of a scholarship at the University of Wuppertal are very promising! If all (!) BUW students were to apply, every 90 students could still receive a scholarship. With the current number of applicants, on average every 4th application actually receives a Deutschlandstipendium! So the chances are particularly good in Wuppertal - often the only thing missing is the courage to apply.

We have already answered most of the questions about the Deutschlandstipendium and have compiled them for you in an overview. If you still have questions after looking at our FAQs, you are welcome to contact the Deutschlandstipendium office for personal advice.

Scholarship from the Studienstiftung BUW

The Studienstiftung BUW's funding is aimed at students who have been regularly enrolled at the university of Wuppertal for at least one year, whose academic success is at risk for financial reasons and who cannot receive BAföG/student finance services. The reasons can be complex. All information on the award criteria and funding guidelines as well as the current application deadlines can be found on the BUW Studienstiftung website. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us for further information and individual advice.
